Right to Request Deletion
You may request that SafePoint delete personal information we have collected about you. The availability of deletion rights and applicable exceptions may vary based on the state in which you reside and the nature of your relationship with SafePoint.
Upon receipt of a verifiable request, SafePoint will delete or deidentify eligible personal information from our records and, where appropriate, instruct our service providers, contractors, processors, and other third parties acting on our behalf to do the same. Safepoint will respond to verifiable requests within the time periods required by applicable law.
Certain personal information collected, processed, or disclosed pursuant to federal, or state insurance laws may be exempt from deletion rights under applicable privacy laws. SafePoint may deny a deletion request when retaining the information is necessary to:
- Issue, service, administer, renew, or terminate an insurance policy;
- Process, investigate, or defend insurance claims;
- Detect, prevent, investigate, or respond to fraudulent, malicious, deceptive, or illegal activity;
- Maintain security, protect our systems, and investigate security incidents;
- Comply with federal, state, or local laws, regulations, legal obligations, or insurance regulatory requirements;
- Comply with record retention, accounting, tax, audit, or reporting obligations;
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims;
- Perform internal operations that are reasonably aligned with customer expectations and our ongoing business relationship; or
- Otherwise retain and use the information as permitted by applicable law and consistent with the context in which the information was collected.In certain circumstances, SafePoint may retain information for the duration required by applicable law or internal records retention schedules. When deletion is not legally permissible, SafePoint may deidentify or restrict the use of such information where appropriate.
Where required by applicable law, you may appeal a decision regarding your privacy request by following the instructions provided in our response.
SafePoint will not discriminate against individuals for exercising their privacy rights as provided by applicable law.
