Safepoint Insurance Company Licensed to Do Business in Alabama and Mississippi

Tampa, FL (April 23, 2019) – Safepoint Insurance (Safepoint) today announced the Company has been authorized by the Alabama and Mississippi Departments of Insurance to write Personal and Commercial business. Safepoint was launched in November of 2013 to initially write Florida homeowners business and expanded into Louisiana in 2015. Safepoint was also authorized to write in Texas in December of 2016 and New Jersey in May of 2017.

Based in Tampa, FL, Safepoint is led by David Flitman, Chief Executive Officer, who has extensive insurance and reinsurance experience in the coastal markets and beyond. Prior to launching Safepoint, David was based in Bermuda as the Executive Director of Global Property Underwriting and Chief Actuary for Flagstone Reassurance Suisse SA. In this role, David participated on a number of coastal reinsurance programs.

Safepoint is currently evaluating all the opportunities to write coastal personal lines and business insurance in Alabama and Mississippi and provide agents and customers another choice.
